Town Board Meeting
September 20, 2017

The meeting was called to order by Chairman Zvolena. The posting was verified. The August 14 meeting minutes were reviewed and accepted after a motion by L. Plaskey and seconded by G. Santilli.

Public Comments: Betty Loos thanked the board for trimming the Town hall yard. Donna Odeen brought up that the intersection by the west side of the school and Hwy 98 is now open.

Various changes have been made to the fuel station by the town hall. The total cost will be $330 and it will be re-inspected after all changes have been made.

Replacing 2 more culverts were discussed. The total cost would be $1,560 for each 30”diameter x 40’ length culvert, including $860 for the culvert itself and $700 for installation and gravel and breaker by Bugar’s. A motion was made by G. Santilli and seconded by L. Plaskey to go ahead with the replacement of the 2 culverts, if there is enough money to cover the costs.

There will be a zoning committee meeting on Monday, October 2 at 8 p.m. at the Loyal town hall regarding the WE Energies gas regulating unit. If the zoning committee (Grant Koski, Mitch Lindner, Jack Kadolph, John Schultz and Jim Froeba) approves it, it will then go to the Town board for approval.

G. Santilli made a motion which was seconded by L. Plaskey to have a special board meeting following the zoning committee meeting on October 2 regarding the same subject.

The wording on the Request for Conditional Use permit form will be changed following a motion by G. Santilli and seconded by L. Plaskey to read that “I/we request a public hearing to be held before the zoning committee, etc.” The wording was changed from board of appeals to zoning committee.

Ford snow plow truck – has transmission problems. It was suggested that it be taken to V&H to find out what exactly the problems are and the estimated costs for repair.

Reminder that the road report is due December 15 and L. Plaskey will work with Jim Matson on that.

Some additional ditch cleaning will be done in the township.

The computer in the town hall is at least 10 years old and is now experiencing problems. A motion was made by G. Santilli and seconded by L. Plaskey for Kitty to explore costs of a new computer and software needs and bring that information to next month’s meeting.

Upgrading the town website – we are using a version 2 and the web company is now up to version 5. The web company will give the town a $150 discount on the cost to upgrade. G. Santilli made a motion, seconded by L. Plaskey to table this until next meeting when we know what the costs will be for a new computer and software.

Zoning – building permits – A multitude of building permits were reviewed.

The financial report was distributed by the treasurer. All invoices were reviewed and approved for payment after a motion by G. Santilli and seconded by L. Plaskey. Motion carried.

The next board meeting will be Wednesday, October 18. Meeting adjourned after a motion by G. Santilli and seconded by L. Plaskey.
