Town Board Meeting
January 18, 2017

The meeting was called to order by Chairman Froeba. The December minutes were reviewed and accepted after a motion by G. Santilli that was seconded by E. Roehl.

J. Froeba stated that there are differing opinions on plowing guidelines. For example what equipment should be used and how many inches of snow on the road require plowing. G. Santilli suggested if there are 2 or more inches of snow the plowing should begin and the truck should be the first equipment used. E. Roehl stated if the snow is light and fluffy 2 inches may not need plowing. Residents need to get to work and the school buses need to get out.. G. Santilli stated that the highest priority is for emergency vehicles. The roads take 3 hours for one pass and 5 and ½ hours with the truck to clear. This means plowing should begin at 2am.
The clerk then read the recommendations from the Towns Association attorney regarding state statutes that apply to plowing of residents private roads and driveways. This should only by done on a very limited basis as the Town should not be competing with private business that can provide this service. Further the Town may not plow business parking lots or driveways.

The treasurer report was distributed by D. Odeen. The invoices were reviewed and approved for payment after a motion by G. Santilli which was seconded by E. Roehl. The firehouse loan remainder of $30,838.14 needs to be refinanced. J. Froeba states he has spoken with R. Syzmanski at Citizens Bank and they can refinance the remainder at 2.5% over 2-3 years. There was discussion that the loans should be refinanced verses paying off the loan. J. Froeba will follow up on the refinancing.

The next meeting will be February 15. G. Santilli made a motion to adjourn which was seconded by E. Roehl.
